    Gloves

    Hi Guys

What do you do about gloves and wet weather? If I get cold fingers they go dead white and are about as useful as bananas so gloves in cold wet conditions are essential. Have a pair of Sealskinz mitts which are advertised as waterproof - and just aren’t. They soak through in no time. I’d be really keen to hear any ideas about any good waterproof and warm gloves out there, or about other ways of tackling the problem. I had neoprene gloves for a while and they’re ok but not great.

Ice ninja from bunnings, fleece lined rubber outside, use them on the ski feild and they are great. Not usually a fan of gloves as i like to be able to feel things but these ones arent bad.

    Another bonus.... $11 a pair

Since I had to take heart medication the white fingers and toes has become a thing of the past...nothing like a shot of Nitrolingual spray under the tongue on a frosty morning to beat the cold...freezer gloves with leather outer and thermal inner, do away with the leather, and the thermal inner even when wet will stay somewhat warm.

Agree, these are what I use in the winter when handling iced up tube and pipe. If you need waterproof then you are pretty much confined to impermeable materials like rubber. The ice ninja ones are plasti-dipped with a textured rubber, super warm, and not too bulky.

Cool! Thanks very much I will give those a try. They’d be ideal for glassing in the wind too

    Youngstown winter gloves.

Similar thread a while back and those were recommended. Been very happy with them. Nice heavy duty work gloves.

Not cheap but I have just bought some gloves from kuiu and they are the best gloves I have owned without a doubt and I haven't even used them yet. Placed my hands in a sink full of water and it just runs off when you remove them. If you watch their videos you see the waterproof layer is on the outside unlike a lot of others which is in the middle layers and still allows the glove to soak in water.

The Yukon Pro. I have some Guide Gloves on the way to see how they go as a more active non waterproof glove. Wouldn’t mind getting the northstar to try out too.

Firstlite grizzlies if you're after a waterproof microwave for your hands, pretty bulky but super warm. Great for glassing.

Ice ninjas good too, especially if you're active

I got some of these recently for fish handling/filleting. They are awesome, like a second skin and keep my hands warm/dry when handling iced fish. I think they would make a good hunting glove too, as long as you don't mind looking like a smurf!

Since going on meds for high BP, I have the same issue with fingers.

I've got loads of various gloves, but the best are the Ice Ninjas from Bunnings as has been already said.

Have a pair of cactus work gloves, they are ok but a limit the movement in you thumb when grasping things, leading to a lack of dexterity, nice and warm and like all cactus gear its going to last for yeats
