Desperately looking for the above in size 10. Didn't realise that they were being discontinued and now find myself bereft and facing the dreaded Ashley's as compensation. Old school bush hunter here so nothing else will do. Be grateful of any intelligence

Looked for them two years ago, out of production then...
HUNTING AND FISHING did a run on them some time back....will cut down ashleys be the same??? I love my racing ashleys,cant see how shorter bullers would be better.
Just cut down Ashley's to buller height,
Ashley's and Bullers have different shapes. Cutting an Ashley down won't be the same. I'm on my last pair of Bullers myself, not sure what I'll use instead.

Skellerup Hikers are good and have a better sole than Bullers
Have a brand new pair in size 9...but I guess that'll be too tight. (wifey wore them around the house then exclaimed they were not comfortable!)

Contact HnF there might be a a pair lurking somewhere in one of their stores. I tracked down previously some in Taupo, Wanganui and Dannevirke. They might do another run. Not sure why not unless they want to sell own branded gear.Quote:

Cutting down Ashleys might get rid of that sharp fold where the upper tongue and boot join. It erodes into your skin. A thick sock takes care of it, sure, but many socks don't reach that high up or they creep down. A good reason to cut down my Ashleys.

Just had a look online for Bullers, Australian farm support stores list them plus there's a wholesaler in Aussie. Must still be manufactured ?
oih @Sarvo looks like you should add Bullers to your list of stuff to import...... sure you can get rid of the sheep smell from aussies trying them out for size. LOL.

Just heard back from Aussie wholesaler, none in stock, stated he ordered them from Skellerup when required, so the availability in Aussie probably the same as here.
Cutting down ashleys are okay, just have to mod them into racing mode, cut the sides of the tongue out and the top two holes off, and on an angle thats a bit down at the heel. Two holes in the instep and good to go. In saying that, once the waffle pattern wears off the tread they get rather skatey. I retired mine and spent an extra $20 and went for some hikers. Tread feels much more grippy.
Keep them going especially in river walking with studs sold by dude on TM. Really rate them. No more slipping over during river crossings.Quote:
