    This is what I do. In the army I always had a bundle of hootchie cord in the pack. Never knew when you would need it
    Criss cross around your thumb and pinky until the whole length is wrapped up. Pull the middle of the bunch where they cross over out and fold the remaining tail end around the whole thing (right). Tie that off to itself (half hitch works well). Keep a short piece from the start of the line poking out the front(shown as the lightening plug end). Will stay like that as long as you need it to. When you want line just pull that short piece and it will keep on coming unravelling as it goes. If you only use half the length you may need to retire the outside knot to keep the bundle short.
