A Tikka T3 in .303 would be nostalgically useful, 150g SST @ 2700 would work fine for normal distances.

From memory the 303 has the same bolt face as a 7mm rem mag so not too hard to rebarrel a tikka and open up the BF if needed.

How much do you want for the barrel ?

You obviously haven't met some of the women that I have woken up next to in my younger days Wildman!
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Sliding an old rimmed ex mill round that rots barrels into a T3 has a certain appeal in a Frankensteinish sort of way.

When you replace that sweaty old Cordite for 43g of ADI 2208 the barrel rot fades into the distant past

I got the micro spikes from a place in Dunedin (south island ) called mac pac may be in other parts of NZ
I have only ever used them in the bush since i got them but they are amazing.
They do have a tendency to slide around your boots if walking around the side of a hill but with a couple of bits of string or tape this can be stoped.
I saw Hunting and Fishing in Dunedin are now selling something very similar
