Jetboil or similar dodads - what do you think?

Those that have a Jetboil of similar - what do you REALLY think of it - its all good reading reviews from wankers in mags that are gifted them and cant saw anything bad about anything (never look a gift horse in the mouth?) but its the plebs like you and I that actaully end up using them.

    So, what say you?

I've got one & it's great. Boils water very quickly, great for traveling light. However I do carry a lighter as a couple of times the ignitor has played up. I don't cook in it just use it for boiling water, instant porridge for breaky, soups, cuppa's & dehyd meals for dinner.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

I have a jetboil, and use it like is stated by outdoorlad, never had any issues though and it sure boils water very quickly, light and easy to use.
I ended up importing mine as locally they wanted 3 times the price for the older model

Ive got the MSR Reactor. Its good for boiling water quickly.

It doesnt have auto ignition which pisses me off a little so still gotta carry ligher/matches.....which we all do anyway so may be not such a big issue.

I have a jetboil, have had it for 3 years, bloody brilliant. Comes in really hand if there are a couple of you wanting a cuppa.

Not a bad tool but I have had mine for two years now and only really seem to use it for brews. Don't get me wrong, it is a great piece of kit but it now gets left behind as a basic gas cooker covers all my bases and is far smaller in comparison. My brother has been nagging me for ages so looks like it will be his come his birthday in a couple of weeks.

Oh yea don't get sucked in to much in only using the JetBoil branded gas canisters as I had no trouble using the standard mixed gas available from every outdoor store.

I can't remember the name of the place on the Nth Shore, I was only sufing the net looking for a home theartre system when I came across there website. I have tried to find the site to no avail but if you google "Jetboil nz" there is a place in New Market advertising them for $150, Blademaster I think, certainly cheaper the $240 some other places want.
