    K2 hunter 50

Has any one got one of these and if so how do you rate it? Enough space, comfortable under load?

Look like a good size for 2-3 days and not as expensive as other brands out there.

Ive got the 85ltr one and really rate them as a good solid workhorse pack.... 2-3 days sees me loaded up to gunnels with a big pack...50 litres I would need to slim gear right down. not much room to put vennison in if you get something either.

I have the 85 liter K2 as well, often use it as a day pack when I plan on filling up on veni or Tahr, my pack is 30yrs old and has cable ties and strapping tape in places, and it just keeps on carrying out truckloads, comfortable and unbreakable (and made in NZ, not fucking China or Bangladesh!) - sometimes you see guys scooting about with a wee pack on, and you think: where the fuck are they gonna put an animal?

Get the big one, you can dump it at the bottom of a hill, zip off the day bag, get your animal and come back to the main pack for the carry.

someone who gets it....yabbadabbayaaahooooo!!!! Ive shot heaps of animals using the frame of pack on ground with me sitting behind it too...the dreaded hand sandwhitch but when in a hurry and shot is longish and grass/tussocks or long...it just plurry works.

I've had one of these for the last couple of years. I use it for overnighters and chasing tahr. Great pack, the only fault is the mesh pockets on the side are a bit fragile. I've ripped mine to bits scrambling around rock etc. otherwise they are bulletproof.

I've also got a cactus huntaway which is also a good pack but slightly smaller and I prefer the k2 which is a bit more comfortable on the shoulders.

    Cheers

How much bulkier are they than a huntech 40L daypack? My huntech is falling apart... There are parts of the huntech I really like -particularly the canvas inner which allows you to stick a few items items like a sheath knife, drink bottle etc between the inner and the outer for quick access. A very slightly (5-10%?) bigger version of the huntech with better straps/harness would be a good daypack

I recently had a k2 alpine hunter made, asked her to leave the mesh pockets off, got a rifle butt attachment and barrel strap for no extra charge
