    Kuiu Merino

So are their base layers ( Merino ) any better than any other local ones.

Way better than macpac in terms of durability. Macpac ones get very thing and rip easy but only cost like $40....

I use macpac ones but have one kuiu merino. They are just to expensive imo

How does their sizing compare to the macpac.

The same pretty much. The kuiu has a different weave and possibly not as much stretch?

I’ve got a T shirt of theirs which is merino with a little bit of nylon. It’s good. Seems warm but also ok in hot weather

I have both Kuiu merino and Cactus merino. I think the Cactus is the better product. Get a Cactus T and a long sleeve and you won't need any other merino base layers.

It depends on what conditions you are needing it for. Just this weekend I lived in the Ultra merino 210 ZIP-T in the Kaimanawa tops, I was warm. Had this as my only layer even in exposed areas.

It if was me; 145g/m² fabric weight for summer, 210g/m² fabric weight for winter. (that's if you're buying Kuiu)

I personally buy the tops that have a zip, that way if I get too hot I just zip it down and it breaths well.
