Latest carbon fibre stock build 510g

Been a while since I posted one of these, been making a couple for an NZ gunsmith over the last 12months. But time is short and these take an age to build. Carbon fibre wrapped Paulownia timber. I’ve been developing the process since lockdown. Have another two partly done. Will get them finished before the roar.

That's a cool idea. Guessing it doesn't have a bad a hollow sound as shell type?

Lol Sikahuntaa, I have one I’m almost finished for my sako 85. Stock is aprox 400g -spent way too long on the build but I set myself a light weight challenge.
I also built a carbon wrapped barrel for it, likely the lightest sako 85 on the planet

Scott, I've got a Sako 85 carbonlite, swaro z3 scope and run a dan hardy suppressor. All up I think 3.4kg. One roar I ended up borrowing my mate's Sako A7, composite, with similar scope and suppressor. Really noticed the difference in picking up hits on animals up real close. It wasn't overly heavy and I enjoyed shooting it. Guess that's one of the things people don't talk about with ultralight rifles is the recoil management is different. Still love the sako for the mountains!

I must say I’m adverse to recoil these days, it was a long time ago when I was shooting 3006 and 270 unsupressed. I’ll take a super light suppressed 308 over an average weight unsupressed 3006 or 270 any day. God bless the guy who invented suppressors

Looks great. Would love to see a few pics of your current build process if you have the time to post.
