    Good point C~~t of a system !!
But humidity an lack of "regular" use is a major trigger for it

Had a pair of (I think)Stony creek greywake with vibram soles. they like plastic.
My mate would laugh his ass off at my antics (dance moves) crossing streams etc.
Ended up canning out with a hind quarters on my back a couple of years ago and stuffed my shoulder.
Took a year to get better but will never be 100%.
I have S/Creek Rusa boots. Last fly in trip (pun) I fell in a creek and buggered tendons in my fingers. The next day fell off rocks in a creek and got concussion. Last day fell arse up again and stuck a rock up my arse. Bloody great trip, and got a nice stag. I have always had problems with those boots on rocks. I will go back to wearing my old Ashleys which I have had no problems in creeks.

yeah someone talking sence......for YEARS I have hated vibram soled boots, every single person Ive been hunting with (bar one and he is a freakishly slow stalking bush ninga hobbit) spends half the day falling over when they arent thumping on rocks or branches....
those cheaper boots of sarvos are good...very good....mine have been covered in blood a few times now cause I stay upright and they are reasonably quiet..... vibram soles suck for bush stalking.

Your ninja bush hobbit mate might have learnt how to stalk properly by hunting sika for a few years.

Well - I actually found them brilliant boots - but they had some awful reviews
I think - size of guy makes a diff and it comes down to finding what suits you and your weight etc etc
Then they stop making that model an u back to sq one - ~~~~ :-(

My tibets are going good never noticed them to be slippery ( i take my boots of to cross rivers)three years and maybe a dozen decent walks and they show no signs of giving up,wash them and water proof spray before putting them away.

Any recommendations? Maybe Bestard or Meindl? Or a model of lowa that work well?

    Sorry for the hijack.
I recommend the Tibet leather lined. They are not avail here so ask Sarvo if he can track some down 4U.
Otherwise recommend anyone whos slipping over start carrying a 'Mustering Stick'. When crossing a stream ALWAYS face the stick upstream and the force of the water will hold the stick down. Place the stick then walk forward leaning on it, stop, move the stick, then two steps etc. Carry it over the shoulder with a bungy. Good for sidling and descending too

Must admit I always try to use stick when crossing a river if the water is higher than my knees .

now as much as rock hopping/boulder bouncing to keep feet dry may look like good idea........if you going to slip and bugger yourself up........ IF you decide you have to do it,or indeed rocks are icy try this..... grab handfulls of sand/fine gravel and chuck it ontop of rocks where you intend to step. it helps, not fool proof but it helps.try it and see for yourself.

@25/08IMP I have Z8s and am looking at Crispis at the moment. Really like the look of the Nevada GTX and the Valdres GTX. Cheaper than lowa and hearing good things

How wide are the Crispi’s , does anyone know ?
I’m also interested in them but not having anywhere to actually handle them and try them on is a worry because I like a wider boot .

Be carful - this wide carry on is often a sales hype to stop guys buying online/offshore etc
Sold 400 pairs of boots from Bluff the Kaitaia - had 2 with wide prob - 1 a Polynesian the other I think had the spare inners left in on top of standard ones - cause they never came back - actually the Cook Island guy didn't send his back either come to think of it
Get the inner length correct and 99.9% of time the width is correct too
Maybe some models are more narrow up front like some smaller Lowa's - but for women
