Really comfy, no breaking in, just put on and go. Used them in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains a few times, rough heather and very, very boggy underfoot. Now use them in NI bush, with Stoney Creek gators, and can cross decent enough streams/rivers without getting wet. Never done nothing to them other than hosing them off yet, but have the Lowa treatment stuff so must get round to it. Last time out I paired up with another hunter who insisted on wading through deeper parts, so boots got wet and I was amazed how heavy they are when soaked, must get that shit onto them. My spot-x is rocky river, that sharp shingle type stuff(slips), grass, a lot of roots, and tons of deer shit.
Noisewise, I seem to think I'm the quietest ninja in the bush, and usually hunt solo, or at least have with these, so can't really comment, but I think they're fine.
Would downright refuse to pay NZ prices for them. Have about 6-7 pairs of various Lowa models, most still coming in my container, unused.

Had mine for a couple of years now. I like them and have had no issues at all.
