Maxi Trac Gear Bag - lying pricks

I brought a Maxi Trac 4wd carry bag from Repco to put some chain in. I based my purchase on the info on the outside of the box saying made from 'Heavy Duty Canvas'. Well surprise, surprise. Got home and the fuc.in thing is made from a polyester plastic material. The inner nylon lined. Not blaming China for that one but the Maxi Trac lying scum importers. I googled their products and just found heaps of negative reviews for all their gear generally involving big delays for purchasers online. But saying can provide in a certain timeframe - not. Though i got the Maxi Trac bag on sale at Repco for $39.00 from $79.00 - still not worth the dosh for plastic type crap. And i was thinking of going to Twin Needle to get a 'quality' small bag made up = hindsight.. saying that i do have another custom made bag from Twin Needle that i will end up using. Rant over..

Maxi Trac Gear Bag - lying pricks

Ford supplied us with some ‘canvas’ seat covers for the Mazda work ute, and they were made from the same crap, couldn’t be further from canvas. Over $400, what a disgrace. They were promptly returned.
There’s a guy in otorohanga up here that makes proper canvas bags, I’ve got a couple in my tool boxes on the ute for strops, shackles, etc, bloody good gear and really well priced. http://www.danzbagz.co.nz/products.html
He does lots of pvc coated canvas, but also plain.

I agree but i can't be the only one that's brought this product in NZ - it was one of two left on the shelf. Curious if others have found the same issue - time might tell?

    Sad to hear that.

We carry our chains in a plastic fert sack. Nice to lie on when your putting them on the truck.

To be fair, doubt the Repco branch exactly knew what the bag inside the box was actually made of compared to the label on the box until they are shown and told. It's Maxi Trac origin that are the real wankers.

Even if that's true, their buyers aren't doing a proper job and doesn't exempt them from the goods not matching the description.

Get one with a hard base, so the arse doesn't fall out of it.
