Domed looks whiter and brighter in both pics to me,What am I missing here?

Will these things honestly outperform the big light force running off a vehicle or more like the smaller light force running off a gel batt?

De-domed gives a smaller more intense hot spot, the bright inner circle. The yellower, or warmer, light also cuts the atmosphere a bit better. Typically that hot spot comes in at 110% above the reading before de-doming.

Ah yes I see the whiter middle now, I have found with very white lights(lenser,HID etc) while eyes stand out really well it can be hard to identify at distance, like you cant see colour.

Yes the white cold tint is deceiving , it appears brighter like this but its thin for lack of a better term. If you look at the second pic the dedomed spot is denser and holds together over greater distance.
The first sn-2 was equal to the lightforce 170 I had in throw, I sold it then so have nothing to compare now. We can do a side by side some time

Impressive, I found the 170 good for clear identification of the body of a deer(colour and form not just outline) to 400y depending on the night and 600odd with the 240.

Will it match the 170 for reach and spread?

Id guess the new ones will have more throw than a 170 by a significant amount but maybe not the spill. Been waiting for a fine night to get the m24 out. The big bonus is they weigh nothing , have no poxy cords and plugs and run for close to 2 hrs. A spare set of batteries and you good for all night. Give me a shout one night and we can compare

Gadget dedomed the M24's big brother today - the Maxtoch 2X.

Aliexpress.com : Buy MAXTOCH 2X, Utmost Version of Long Shooting Flashlights, Maximize the Performance of All Aspects, Incredible Long Shooting Light from Reliable version email suppliers on EST GROUP Co., Ltd

This bigger light (440gms to the M24's 270gms) is a bit heavy for most scope mounting but good as handheld spottie. Standard it is about 120k lux and I will test it tonight but expect about 240k or so after dedoming - about 1 kilometer max range in perfect conditions. It can be tweaked to 350-400k for use as a super long range torch on 243 etc.

Both the Maxtoch M24 and the 2X are very well built lights - both are kiwi designs. They put an end to our use of halogen spotlights/ lightforces etc. Simply so much lighter/easier to use - and I found my original maxtoch was 15% better than my 6" halogen. The XML leds mean even dedomed they retain very good beam spill as well as that tight hotspot - great for paddock scanning. Dedomed they gain a more halogen tint which as someone else notes is excellent for cutting through crap and moisture in the atmosphere.

M24 dedomed good for picking up big animal bodies (not eyes) out to 500 yards with naked eye. Dedomed 2X quite a bit further, and tuned up 2X will daylight them at huge range.

How do you like the little M24 and its performance Sneeze? Wee beauty isn't it. Was impressed with light weight and production quality. And how's that M60 going?

I've only seen coloured LED's in lower spec offerings, not in XML.

They seem to ship to Aussie if you click open the drop down on the Free Shipping to line.

Cam I've got a spare sn6-x2 or three I can mod to various levels for you to buy before you try if you want.

Just did a stocker for Adam. Reckons he's blind now. Not surprised.
