    North Ridge flys

Are they any good? I was looking at a Oz trail one but might be a bit small this one seems like a better size. Need a fly my old tarps pretty buggered but has served me well.

Loks good Toby but why wouldn't you just get another tarp if you have had a good experience with one. They are bugger all at the Warehouse.

    Hi Toby

I have 2, the jumbo and normal.

I have used them quite a bit and are actually pretty good for the coin. The tapes loops for the cord have broken on one, no drama to fix up.

Unless you need a huge area get the normal size one, perfectly fine for a couple of guys and all their gear.

    Cheers

It ripped on its first outing Rushy. Was a camo warehouse one haha. Also might as well get something lighter and that packs smaller. It's pretty big when packed. 18cmx58cm and weighs 2.1kg

This is what I use toby

    BEYOND Flight Bivy - 2 Person | Buy Recreational Online | Shop @ Torpedo7

It cost me $80 and as you'll see it's even cheaper than that on special now. It's pretty spacious (two is alright) but light enough for solo trips (1.48kg). To be honest I'm a bit wary about it's quality, haven't had it for long so I guess we'll find out, but I got it because it seemed like a hell of a lot more bang for your buck than a glorified tarp and as it seems, lighter.

Like Dino I've got both sizes of the North Ridge ones - on the big one I got a bag zip repair shop to reinforce the loops and they are all good.I use the small one mostly.
I replaced the rope with paracord, got 6x plastic pegs and sanded down the sharp edges on em and carry a 6x4 warehouse ultracheap blue tarp as a floor. If it rips another one is about $6.
Small one could sleep two if needed - I use stretchies to keep em taut and they are bloody good for hanging ya socks up inside at the end of a days hunting to dry out

I wouldn't go back to a tent unless I was down in sandfly country or up on the tops - if it's windy I back one end up to a big tree and put the open end downwind.
