paracord is always handy - home, truck, hunting etc
7 strand paracord is brilliant, lightweight and strong as all hell. I always have some with me.
7 strand paracord as mentioned, i've always got some on me in the field. Aliexpress is the cheapest i've found.
I like it, and use it on rifle slings and to tie something like a torch or lighter so's I don't lose it to my gear.
If you're looking for a bunch of it, Atwoods in the US sell it. They have boxes of end of run/ slight imperfection stuff that's far cheaper than getting individual hanks of it.
Yup. Have heaps of the stuff. It's the bailing twine of non-farmers, city no 8 wire.
Bankline is also very useful, does not hold 550 pounds , but weighs less and fold up smaller.
can buy it at mitre 10 too.
I've taken a liking to Amsteel Blue rope. 12 strand Dyneema. 3mm version has a breaking strain of 1.1Tonnes (2500lbs), and is easy to splice. About $1 / meter.
If there was a downside - it's really hard to cut without a really sharp knife. Scissors won't do it.
where is the source and price for amsteel blue? please
info@ropes.co.nz
Send them an email for current pricing on the thickness you are after.
Last lot I got was the 2.5mm stuff for 99c + GST per meter
The other thing to look into with amsteel (especially the thicker stuff) is making soft shackles - a spliced cord loop that is a super light easy replacement for carabiners
