Custom Scope turrets. Sold a z5 scope turret broke somehow between pulling scope and getting fitted by new customer. Maybe from user error maybe just fluke but after the CST didnt work. Sourced me a cheap replacement part to keep buyer happy even though I doubted his product had anything to do with the failure.
Yeh had Coebay help out swapping out some warranties binos after some long term issues with the nz agent. Wasn't a customer before but younger brother purchased some Of the rangefinding binos due to the pleasant interaction.Quote:

Swarovski EL 42 Range were out of warranty by many years when I had a breakdown on them.
Swarovski NZ gave me a demo pair for the 3 months when mine went back to Austria for repairs.
Just picked up my repaired binoculars today and got home and unwrapped the package.
All the repairs are done plus the body completely re armored and all the removable exterior parts have been replaced with new.
All that including to and from Austria $320
Absolutely delighted with every aspect of the service and works
Swaro are unreal. Button tore off on El range sent back they replaced the armor the glass and the range sensor. Very impressed. Was gone for 3 months but rapt with service they gave. Crispi boots awesome service too on boots outside warranty.
Macpac and the old Fairydown...
Macpac always repaired problems and wanted to learn about improvements.
Fairy down life time warranty expired after 15 years or so... they would not replace the perished sewn in foam in the back pad. Mentioned it to Macpac in Chch one time and they asked to see it and repaired it for me gratis... How was that for service?
The Vortex warranty is exceptional.
Had a handheld rangefinder that was about 15 years old that the kids bought out of retirement a while back that stopped working the other day. Sent it back to extravision Nz, 2 days later a brand new one arrived on my doorstep!
Still waiting for my faulty Swaro 10x32 range finder binos that were sent away 3 weeks ago (was told 3 months)
Vortex really set the standard for no-questions warranty quite a few years back. Swaro are great, but your looking at 2-3 months by the time stuff goes to Austria and comes back again. My EL10x42s came back from a repair practically brand new (serviced) after 5 years of abuse.

I have a rain coat where the seam sealing tape was coming off around the arms. It was old, so I emailed asking if I could buy some tape, and have a go at repairing it.
They had a record of its age, it was over 10 years, warranty was 10 years.
They verified my address and sent me a new jacket! New model bloody awesome. It was here in less than a week!
I have bought heaps more off them since. Mountain Star tent the other day, just don’t hesitate now.
Macpac, polar opposite.
Bought their top of the line breathable/waterproof sleeping bag. Mate bought a fairly budget Domex at the same time, and as you do, we argued over who’s was the best for several years…
Woke up one morning, by chance sharing a tent with the same mate, same Domex sleeping bag.
Feathers everywhere.
Like a snowstorm in the tent. Big rip across the knee section of my expensive Macpac sleeping bag. My mate nearly wet his poxy, but superior Domex laughing so much…
Macpac wouldn’t cover it, wouldn’t repair it.
Claimed it had UV damage. It was a -25 bag, I didn’t take it sun bathing.
Only UV light it would have been exposed to was the odd time I strung it out in the sun for an hour or two in the winter, and even then I’ve always aired my bags inside out.
Was gutted they wouldn’t stand by their product, bit of digging online found they had a lot of problems with the fabric, Entrant from memory, a lot of unhappy campers.
Never spent another cent with Macpac, and never will.
I had a bad experience with leupold. Had a VX3 scope which had a Paralex issue would go haywire and you could not hit anything with it. Sent it away, came back, good for 3 months then same thing, sent it back again with an assurance it was sorted, same thing happened again. The frustrating thing was each time it cost me animals.
I got fed up with it and never sent it back as will never trust it again.
Will never buy another Leupold
Also Meindl, awesome boots but after sales service when there is an issue is the worst out.
Lowe Alpine - Had a 20 year old pack that I had used and abused. The lining on the inside starting flaking and covering all my gear in this powdery shit. Contacted the NZ agent and they sent me the latest version of the pack. Outstanding. But also why its worth paying for a life time warranty and not buying cheap shit.
Had a recent experience with leupold. Sold a VX5 to a guy on here - almost new. He had a sharp eye and noted moisture in the scope only visible on 3x so I said I'd sort the warranty and he'd essentially get a new scope.
The good: sent through hunting and fishing Dunedin and they were great to deal with. No questions asked at either H&F or Leupold end and scope came back repaired free of charge. H&F said usually 6 week turnaround.
The bad: long story short, 12 weeks and four days later I had the scope back. I don't mind the timeframe as much (understand that people/business get busy) as the lack of communication. Despite multiple follow ups from myself and H&F none of us had any idea what was going on until the scope turned up again 3 months later. The leupold rep assured H&F that they're in the process of sorting out the customer service but it was a not how I expect the process should go.
Stoney creek jacket, about three years of regular use, zip played up and they gave me a brand new jacket to replace it.
10 year old (maybe more) leupold Windriver Pinnacle had an annoying issue and these were swapped out for BX4 Pro Guide for the cost of shipping only - I was very pleased with that one.
My vortex Diamondback 2-7 fogged yesterday. Have had it for years and has had a tough life. No other physical damage apart from missing paint.
Will take it in to where I bought it, will probably get laughed out of the store but you never know.
