ridgeline deluge anorak vs stoney creek stowit

Any thoughts? i'm after a rain jacket that packs down small for north island day trips. doesn't need to be warm as even in winter up here a rain jacket seems to leave me too warm when moving.

any thoughts on the above two models? a bit annoying they are only half zip, I like that on ever other garment but could be a bit niggly on a rain jacket. around the 100 dollar mark is my budget

I use a stow-it for exactly what you are looking to use it for. Only fault I can think of is it is quite loud when moving through thick stuff. Then again if its raining silence doesn't really matter all that much. Other than that, its minties.

I have a stowit and rate it. I got a size bigger than I would normally wear so it would cover my arse (so to speak) and easily fit over other clothing winter or summer.

Have changed to a small pack up job as well, had a cycling one lying around and really like the fact it weighs nothing and takes up no room

Using a deluge at the moment, it's alright no better or worse the other equivalents. Like most coats, if you sweat like me you get wet anyway.

I got my son a Stow-it and he loves it. Shower proof and packs down well. Even wears it to school on rainy days.

+1 for the Stow-it. I carry mine in my van for work as well as in the bush, if I had my time again though I'd buy a size bigger so it goes over all my gear better when hunting but for all round use the closer fit is better. As for length I'd describe it as typical anorak length?
