    One other way I find works well for hands free is to just put the waist belt of the pack through the rifle sling when the rifle is on your shoulder. That keeps it well secured.
    One of the issues with modern rifle.slings is the synthetic materials they're made do not grab on fabric so they continually slip off your shoulder. Great tip I got from.an old guy was to use the cotton military issue rifle slings. They don't slip. I bought up a bunch of 303B ones before they got scarce and expensive. Treasure them..

    One of the claims that helped convince me on the FHF Gear Rifle Sling and Pack Attachment Kit from Points South, was that the sling was made from an anti slip material. Looking forward to trying it out
