    Rural Butcher Knife Sharpening Kits

Evening all. Has anyone used the Easysharpe knife sharpening kit the Ruralbutcher sell? Any good? Was looking at picking one up at the next Sika show. They look copies of the Ruikin knife sharpening kits which has mixed reviews on youtube.

I have a knife sharpening sickness and use a eze-sharp from aussie.
It is a fantastic bit of kit to do up very blunt knives.
It is bulky and messy but works better than a scary sharp.
I have been using my neighbour's new warthog when he turned up with it one day.
Fantastic bit of kit ic you havnt got big shoulders on your edge.
I am now running mostly victory or victornox knives that are light and take an edge quickly and easily.
I even went and bought one at the rotorua show the other day and as long as your knife not super blunt it works very well and gets them shaving sharp reasonably quickly.

Rural butcher my arse. Reverse image search shows those pics are exactly the ruixin. Buy it directly from aliexpress and save yourself 120 bucks.

Bloody epidemic these days of people importing cheap shit from aliexpress and trying to sell it at 4 times the price.

HA! I didn't even take a close look at the photos, its is a Ruikin, cheeky bastards. I recently bought a Starette 8pc knife set set from Tradezone for $109, its the exactly same set Rural butcher sell for $183.
I don't have a aliexpress account but I believe trademe sell Ruikin sharpeners

I've been meaning to buy a quality knife sharpener for some time and this has reminded me....sounds like Eze sharp and warthog are highly favored, hadn't heard of Ruikin before until now. Might have to plonk myself down this avo with a few cold frothy ones and go back through some threads.

I have the warthog, and its very knife dependant. I have two knives that half a dozen swipes through the warthog and they are 1mm thick tomato slicers again. And lots of knives that it just never get there. Sharp, but not SHARP. The thinner the knife the better is my experience with the warthog.

Been looking at warthog sharpeners online, the 325 grit stone they come with seems a bit too coarse for my liking and additional stones are over half the price of the sharpener itself.

À lansky in reverse, kind of.
The spyderco tri angle is pretty good, but ideally you want to buy the Dimond stones as well that goes on it.

The lansky four rod turn box is really easy to use , same principle and a bit tidier for the kitchen operators ( ie our ladies). I bought that system for my last 3 girlfriends . Sharp knives might have cut the relationship;-)

I would agree with that comment.
My custom expensive knives don't really get used as just running a few victory knives these days.

I've had the same experience. It's great for my filleting knives.
