In removing the head from the stag I didn’t want to blunt my main knife so I used my backup folder. I wasn’t particularly gentle with it, and the result can be seen. Is this salvageable? It’s a handy length and weight, and I have grown rather attached to it. It wasn’t expensive, but I would rather not just throw it out. Any thoughts?Attachment 140649
Find a woolshed with one of the old treadle powered wet stones and make sure there is water in the bath, or else find a shearer who blade shears
Some knives have that as a feature admittedly closer to the handle than yours but it might still be useable for birds.
Rope or line cutter , or just reshape on belt sander .
if you can get a bit more of a hook on the rear edge it could be a bottle opener

Is the blade removable? I would draw around it before grinding so a new blade could be made if the grind doesn’t work out.
There are some good knife makers on this forum that may be able to advise where to get some good knife steel.
Throw it away. It's not an expensive knife by the looks. You can do better. Treat yourself to a nice folder from @terryf

Could you get the small wheel in there and sharpen the chip? Could make a line cutter if you are going to use it on the boat
