It's spine "jimping" basically extra grip for different hand posistions when it's wet or bloody. The pummel at the end is designed for breaking glass etc. Designed as a military/hunting knife.

Cheers Gibo! Been working on keeping them the same and now in full production... well in the shed... very happy with how they are turning out considering I’m a self taught chancer.

I'm not sure, it is stamped with FR but not Svord. I have a svord stamped one as well. The shape is almost identical but this one is clearly a weathered blade.

I couldn't help myself when I saw the marks on the spine of the knife and the absence of a svord stamp.

Size: 104.2 KBSuperb quality and craftsmanship. Terry was super helpful and provided top service. Photos don’t do the knife justice it deserves.

Quite a small knife, about a 3 inch blade but nicely balanced.
    Would make a good utility.

Greetings, nice piece but this was made by Owen Wood, not Willie Paulsen.

No worries. Judging by the pinstripe Damascus I would guess it was made in the 90's just before Owen left SA. Owen really pioneered this pinstripe Damascus with Ettore Gianferrari from Cape Town. If you want an approximate year I can ask Ettore?

You have a nice collection of classic SA cutlery there!
