This was sitting on my home office desk when I got home from work. Ordered Monday, arrived Friday. Got to love DLT.

It's Elmax , definitely a step up from the trusty sword farmers knife that I normally use.

    Two new knives.
Mora Kansbol multi mount and Mora Eldris neck knife kit which includes the fire starter.
Both intended as camp utility knives primarily instead of using hunting knife for basic camp chores.
Im spending a lot of time in the bush and not really having to shoot many animals, so decided utility rather than pure hunting was a better option.

The pair together. Both clip into sheath and also have a safety domed keeper.

    Kansbol has full moulded grip.
    Multi mount base.
Nice size and looks perfect for around the camp and will test on a deer soon.
Nice stainless steel and awesome looking grind.
Sharp from factory but will be scary sharp soon.

Eldris neck knife kit is very small and handy.
Includes fir starter and the back of the knife blade is square for using on the fire steel.
Throws an awesome spark that smoulders for ages.
Only 50mm blade but Im expecting to find a lot of uses for it, especially whittling odds and ends.

I would be cautious using the scary sharp on those two, I am not convinced it’s desined to work on a scandi grind, those two knives are dual grind with the scandi transtionioninb I to a saber grind, at least that’s what I understand, could be wrong as I have not used them, just seen pictures, but the scary sharp system is likely to change the grinds on them, they will still work of course, and be sharp as, but you may lose some of the benefit of the dual grind.
I could be totally wrong so let us know how they go!

I got them scary sharp with a wet stone.
    Not a "Scary Sharp" sharpener.
I'm looking forward to giving them a decent test in the coming weeks

Ah, my mistake then, be interested to hear how they perform, those dual grinds intrigue me.

    Nice. Are you pleased?

Now you might want one of these to slip into the fire steel loop...

Just finished a little job of refurbishing an old knife I found at a flat in the 1980s.
I like the blade but the wooden handle was falling apart and the whole thing was looking a bit shabby. I used a piece of timber for the handle that the late Chris Short had given me about 25 years ago. I can't remember what it is but it has come up pretty good. Glad I finally got around to using it. Thanks @veitnamcam for the help.

@Tahr. That's where VC came in. I used phosphor bronze welding rod to pin it. He drilled through the blade (far to hard for any drill I had) and I bashed it with a big hammer to peen it on. You can hardly notice the difference in the metals.
I kept the handle a simple shape as I wanted it to stay similar to the original.
