Bugger. Haven’t heard of any issues with these. Mine get a heap of use and still going strong. Maybe try taking the battery out and replacing it? Don’t know why it might help other than forcing a bit of a head reset and making sure it’s getting enough juice, though I don’t think ranging further require more power. Probably worth a go anyhow.

You are sure you are not on some bowhunting mode or something similar?

    pretty sure its a fault
I tried it again today and battery reading half full but when ranging drops to showing its flat. I took it to the shop and put a new battery in it and i did get a range but are sending it back away its been mucking around to much
Doesn't sound like the nz agent are great to deal with. Told to expect to pay $60 odd dollars if no fault found

NZ distributor is tops imo. Been very easy to deal with.
As for having to pay $60 assessment fee if no faults found, that's pretty std for anything - even Toyota will charge for diag if there's no fault found. Brands, no matter what the product is, can't be expected to pay for labour for user error.

Get a new battery, my 6k Binos reads 3/4 bars full but struggle to range when cold. Put a new battery in and they’re good to go. For the sake of $10 it’s worth trying before sending away.

I had a sig Canyon that got water in it when i slipped crossing a river . Took it back to the shop and they sent it away, and it was replaced with a new one about a week later. Very happy Chappy!!
