They don’t make it anymore. macpac express 400. I think the Macpac Epic has replaced it.

Mont bell Japan gets my vote too
Really? You must have got a dud one. I'm six foot and don't have a problem with the size but any bigger and yes you would need to go to the US xl model.
I have found mine very well made and better specs than the Domex range. It's is lighter, warmer and cheaper than the Domex superlight and has a pretty cool stretch system that lets the bag move with you. With a compression sack it packs down smaller than my Macpac puffer jacket. I spent a lot of time researching bags and didn't find any thing in NZ with as good a specs for the price
I have used a fairydown Polar for years but it requires a Nepalese porter to carry it for me.
Bought a Halo this year. Very impressed $585. Buy one look after it, no porter required. Get the 1.1 kg one. With a bivey bag total weight 2kg which means it can be carried instead of an emergency shelter at this time of year. Mr Duley designed it big enough to wear a jacket inside it when it is really cold
I bought an Epic 600 on sale. It’s Very good.

I bought a one planet sleeping bag. Aussie made for 440 I believe.
It's a minus 4 rated but I hunt CNI so it works well.
I quite rate it but have never done a mid winter umakarikari hunt yet so will do a report then
Hey man what did you end up with I’m currently looking at Domex halo was tossing up between light and normal talked to a guy today who’s got one and said he got cold in the halo normal north island 3 days ago and it hasn’t been that cold so 650 dollars and still getting cold sounds bad
