Question Stoney creek fly - or alternatives?

Looking at buying a fly for summer hunting for a lightweight camp option. Also use it for rain/sun protection or to support tent setup on rainy days.
I've been looking at the Stoney Creek standard (orange one) or the Stealth, slightly lighter option which I think they use on RST Hunters Club.

Do people rate them? Or are there better/cheaper alternatives out there. I'll have walking poles too to help prop it up.

    heavy and cheap

    smaller, half kg

    lighter but spendy

I haven't tried the SC tarp personally but I find them overpriced in general

I have a stony creek stealth fly while I like it in general it does sag when it gets wet . Have also purchased a kiwi ultra lite will see how it goes. Feels extremely light and does feel strong but yet to test it.

Make sure you get Silpoly over Silnylon.

Keep an eye on TradeMe, plenty of good gear comes up for sale. The TerraNova light competition flys are good, spendy new but 2nd hand good deals. Same for Rab. I think SC stuff is generally over priced at retail prices, HnF etc

This is good advise, the poly won't sag like the nylon with moisture. The silnylon is light but stretches big time!

I have the SC Drone fly. It's okay but there are better options. Go on youtube and search for how to setup a tent fly and you'll see much better and cheaper options than the hunting brands.

My biggest complaint is not enough tie points for different configurations.

I like the size/shape of the Stoney Creek Stealth. I have a RAB Siltarp 2 and don't really like its shape being a bit short head to toe.

I had a SC drone fly years ago. Was alright, no complaints. For the last 4yrs I’ve been using a DD Hammocks superlite tarp & been happy with it. I wanted one that had a bunch of extra tie down points. It’s very lightweight, to the point I was pretty sceptical about how durable it’d be, but after 4 years of use it’s no worse off than when I got it. The pegs that came with it weren’t great but I just replaced those.
