Thank you @hotsoup. Most useful, and well written.

I have been hanging out for the 'full zip' version of the Rifleman which was apparently imminent late last year. Like some others on here I struggle with overheating (probably caused by overeating!) and I have 1.5 munted shoulders....so not much of a contortionist and strongly prefer clothing that opens fully. I figure from what you have found with the currently available version it will serve me well.

    Cheers

Gotcha. I can understand how a full length zipper version would be preferred, fingers crossed they come out with another model.

They definitely don't manage odor as well as merino, but are still pretty good, and are waayyyy harder wearing

Cool man. Cheers for the report. Good to know.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

@hotsoup any updates on how you’ve found the gear to be performing and holding up over the past three years?

Kagoule I'd just use for wet bush hunting, soaks up water a bit but it's quiet.

Tahr ultralight I highly recommend for alpine hunting, not that breathable though - @Seventenths

    Wouldn't touch Huntech

Tahr Ultralight... is that another name for the Rifleman or a completely different jacket? Thanks

More importantly, their service is exceptional.
It'll work OK for certain applications. Wouldn't be carrying it on wilderness hunts. Many stories of gear failure with this brand. Just my opinion

@MSL Please tell these misguided souls what 'real' men (with hairy appendages and 1/2 a ton of muscle) wear...

That Tussock jacket is a way more functional piece of kit than the Tahr anorak and I've used it daily for the last 4 months.
The Huntech Tussock jacket is the single best piece of rain wear I've ever owned.
Have been looking at the Huntech Tussock to replace a current jacket as I find that even with very little exertion i'm feeling "damp" inside the jacket and when i stop to glass or sit and look, I soon start to feel quite cold inside the jacket.

What is your impression of the "wicking" ability of this jacket and how is it better than the Swazi you have ?
