    Synthetic bags

Looking at adding a robust synthetic bag to my spring summer kit for sleeping under a fly in the NI. Something that can dry quickly if need be.

Got it down to 2 snug pack options.

    Special forces 1. Centeal zip1200g. 0 to -5
( real good for tall blokes)

    Tactical 2. Side zip. 1100 g.

    Other options:

Kifaru slick? Sound a bit too silky.
Recon3? sounds average on warmth performance but hardy.

    Other models?

    Interested to hear your experience.

    Thanks fellas.

I’ve got Snugpak synthetic Black On Black 3 season, had it forever, got it in England on my OE in about 1997, haven’t been cold yet. Have thought about a new fancy down sleeping bag...just can’t leave my old faithful sleeping bag

    Synthetic bags

    I have both a Snugpak 9 Hawk https://www.snugpak.com/military/mil...-bags/softie-9 and 10 Harrier https://www.snugpak.com/military/mil...bags/softie-10

I do prefer the Harrier as it has a shoulder baffle that stops additional heat loss, granted these are a higher spec than what you are looking for. I find the the temp range of the ideal for all year round use in the North Island especially in a bivibag, fly or tent.

I you can order the UK manufactured models as they use better materials and fill.

My latest bag was ordered from https://www.nightgearstore.com/en-NZ...ngdsl12720.htm during the first lockdown and arrived from the UK in under 10 days.

The cost savings were well worth the short wait.
