Got an older model MSR HubbaHubba and during recent wet trip it was leaking in a couple of spots on the main seam.
Also noticed the old seam sealer is flaking off in places. What’s the best option for waterproofing seams ?

I just done mine a couple weeks ago for the same reason with a coleman roll-on sealer.Quote:

If you like DIY there is a recipe on the net somewhere for dissolving slicone rtv into white spirits then paint it on.
It works pretty good for around stitches etc and when dried off looks like a wet stripe down the fabric.
yeah , I just waterproofed my jacket like that. the water just beads off now. get some rtv silicone and turps. squeeze some silicone into a container ,then mix in some turps until it is real runny, then i just wiped it on with a rag. make sure you use gloves though , rtv is horrible crap to get off your hands. look on youtube for homemade siltarp videos and you will find some info.
