    Tuatahi work axe

Been looking at picking one of these little beauties up...but they are not cheap and there is a 3-4 month waiting list, just thought I would see if anyone had one they weren’t using anymore and wanted to sell...not looking at any other brands and not looking at the “kingi” version.

They do a race axe too, but it’s extremely specialised, different grind and bevel angle for different wood, whereas the work one is a all purpose but extremely powerful tool.

Yes have one the same as MSL. Ordered, stuck out the wait time and was it worth it? Hell yes. Quaility and function. Lived up to expectations and even the leather cover is a work of art. Buy quality and only cry once!

Giving this thread a bump as i just discovered that they are on sale..... having brought one a few months ago, o well thats life...

Had a bit if a play limbing a few trees and it sure works, then spliting pine rings 8t works better than my fiskars splitting axe. Only problem is when you get the damn thing stuck, had to get brave and chainsaw around it CAREFULLY in order to get the ring light enough to reverse the axe on the chopping block

Have used mine a few times on all sorts of wood now, it damn near whips through everything, including tea tree, which is a right bitch with other axes, however it IS heavy, I would not use it for a tramping axe, and I would recommend getting handy with autosol if you want to keep it looking pristine, would I sell it, hell no, do I regret it, hell no, would I recommend one, hell yes!

Shelley sums it up well. Have used mine to split a few m3 of pine rings and it chews through it. Am looking for more timber to attack

Try split some 'pine nut' trees. They are worthless, and harder to split than gum sideways.
