Great product. I've been using them a few years and I just love them. Think I currenly own 4.
Its so easy to use - my wife uses hers in the kitchen with ease and my 10 year old is able to sharpen a blade until its wicked sharp.
A few things to remember.
1. Do not sharpen dirty/fatty blades(the grinding surfaces will clog up).
2. If its the first time you sharpen a blade on the V-sharp, keep on going until the new edge has been ground into the full length of the blade.
3. Rinse the blade being sharpened regularly - this will help keeping the diamond sharpeners clean.
If you can - get 2. One with course stones and 1 with fine stones

Had one for a couple of months. Quick and easy. It has made it's way from the shed to the kitchen and is now used for all the kitchen knives as well
Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure I've heard anything bad about these sharpeners and not a crazy price either.
OK, so I got one and it is as close to the holy grail of amateur knife sharpening that I've come across. Relatively cheap, easy to use (almost pleasant) and effective. I now have an odd-looking hairless patch on my left forearm!
I've ordered some 1000 grit hones. The 325 grit hones that come with the kit are certainly effective, but a bit too coarse for maintenance sharpening in my opinion.
You'll laugh....But its because I tended to forget my V-sharp at home when I went hunting and ended up buying another ever so often. They are quite cheap.
Ended up having one in the kitchen(chrome to fit in with the wifes other stainless stuff), one in my meat processing knives toolbox, another in my Namibian Hunt pack and the last in my weekend away hunting pack. This way I stopped forgetting my sharpener at home.
I love my whetstones but you guys have got me keen, just looked up a few vids online and trademe has the better quality steel framed version for $150 with the wooden base.
Is it worth while getting the 600 and 1000 grit or just go from the 325 up to 1000? I think my normal starting whetstone is like 1000 grit.
I mainly use the 600s - the 1000 I'll only use on my everyday in pocket knive.
300 work great on knives being sharpened fot the first time on the V-sharp.
(I prefer the Warthog V-sharp with the metal frame.)
I go to 50000 grit (.5 micron) for kitchen knives to minimise cell crushing and hence food spoilage, can’t do that on the warthog!
Quick update. I sharpened my hunting knives this morning. One of the knives went from dull to sticky sharp in minutes. I used the 325 grit hone, then the 1000 grit and then the finishing steel. Impressed.
