What setup
Hi All
I have recently moved from the UK where I would do quite a lot of Fox shooting at night. Along with Deer of all kinds during the day. Having went over the years from a lamp at night, onto NV, and then a thermal spotter to pick them out with normal scope and lamp to shoot,
I am just getting my setup here starting from the bottom up. As there are no Fox here, it would appear that the only night shooting would be Possum and the odd Rabbit. I will be continuing to shoot multiple quarries.
Would it be worth getting a thermal scope or
Thermal monocular and normal scope or
Just a normal scope and lamp.
I will be shooting DOC and private land. I also read somewhere that thermal is not permitted on DOC land?
The thermal monocular has so many applications.
TIA

There's also no rimfires, air rifles or shotguns permitted on DOC land, and no hunting in the dark, so if you're after possums on the conservation estate you'll need to invest in traps or a long spear and hunt them during the day.
Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

There is also no night shooting on Doc estate. Private land you can do what you want.
