Funny I’ve seen a similar thing happen, though it was the MSR that came up trumps.

I have the MSR nx 2 man and the Luxe copy. I have used these tents on the west coast tahr hunting over the past 5/6 years. The Luxe copy is pretty damn good for the money, but did leak slightly around some of the door seams where the tie back toggles were stitched in big storms. I bought the MSR after this and find it excellent, but in big storms with heavy rain a bit of splashing on the inner, and the vestibule pegs can pull if not secured with longer pegs.
I think there is better value then the MSR try big Agnes and some of the marmot 2 mans which were selling at 550 odd at Sitka show. Mates Tatonka pretty good, slightly heavier but pretty bullet proof.
Been bush for the last 2 weeks so only just seen this now.
So i dont have one but a mate does and it is freaking awesome. Will be the next purchase. Not the cheapest.... about 1k or thereabouts.
1.7kg so pretty light weight but durable. Bloody strong. Reviewed as : Exceptionally spacious, durable, and weather resistant for its weight, top-tier materials, pitches easily from the outside, spectra guylines with camming adjusters, removable inner tent, reflective points

Any one heard of Hillman tents? Any good ?
Following on from what paddygonebush said - Hilleberg is the way to go. Yeah, they may be a smidge heavier and more expensive than some other options, but they'll probably out-do and outlast anything else on the market.
I started with a Macpac Olympus but I'm now running a Hilleberg Soulo (which is the one person freestanding model) and it's been bomb-proof. Only takes a few minutes to set-up compared to the Olympus which involved lots of fiddling around to get the poles into the sleeves - no sleeves on the Hille.
The larger model Hille's will be just as intuitive and awesome to use.
Buy once, cry once.
