    I beg to differ, sir.

It may may not be coffee to your refined palate, but it is to mine.

Just melt polystyrene into petrol, you end up with this pink gel that can be lit and keep burning nice and low, perfect for squirting onto a bonfire that someone has started in a big flash of petrol and has died down but still has embers

I once had a bonfire go for 3 days, after that party I fished out a blue bottle (remember Vault 88?) that had been completely melted

Homemade yes, it works ok but I think that proper napalm burns a bit hotter This is more like what the US folks call sterno

Naptha (petrol) plus Palm Oil, hence 'Na Palm'

Burning Polystyrene releases nasty gasses, hence why firemen don't put out fires in freezer panel buildings @mrscottydog for the full story ?

I’m happy with a cup of tea in the Bush, although I do have some lightweight coffee making equipment. Aeropress is one of them.

I know this was supposed to be about beer can stoves, but it has evolved into back country coffee making equipment and that's something I'm pretty passionate about, so I'm running with it. Here's my 5c worth.

I'm an unapologetic coffee snob. I run a La Pavoni single boiler espresso machine at home, only because I can't afford an E61 group head yet (one day!). I've tried all sorts in the bush, and lugged an Alessi stovetop around for years - they are a thing of beauty, but the weight-to-coffee-output ratio is ridiculous. Then I came across the Swiss Gold pour-over filter:

This thing makes a way better coffee than a plunger and weighs 83g. Ground coffee goes in the section with the gold mesh, and holes in the second section control the flow of hot water through the grinds. The first section has a flange so the coffee drips directly into your cup, like so:

Only drawback for me is the size - I'm even more picky about my gear being compact than the weight. So I made this bit of kit, based on a Chemex filter and using plastic containers from Bargain Box:

A smaller container holds 2 days worth of ground coffee and the whole thing fits together like this:

And just to get this thread back on track, here's the beer can stove I made with my daughter last week as a lockdown project. It won't replace my Pocket Rocket in the bush because it's so messy emptying the un-used fuel, but it was a bit of fun.
