Duck Pond / irrigation pond Canterbury

Yes Its a long shot but I'm looking my hardest for a pond to call my own , Lost a pond so was without last season and it sucked . Did big ks looking today with no joy . Don't care where , don't mind any lead & will follow up . Not looking to step on toes but farms change hands and people move on etc . Im Totally trustworthy and treat my hunting on farms as a privilege

Was out duck shooting last night got seven not bad for the last day of the season for me
Two barn owls on the water meadows as well which are great to watch.
But no pond like we have back in NZ.
So I also feel for ya My dad had two down the back of his farm that backed onto the Waihou river. Could fit five guns had a lot of fun on those

I feel your pain. What I am going to try is asking the farmers I already know if they would be happy to develop a pond on their land (I do all the work and $$$, they get to shoot it as well). Even if you start with a farm with few ducks you can draw a few more in and then work on getting their breeding sucess up to develop a shit farm\spot into a good one.

there are shitloads of ponds alright munsey even when you discount those to close to the roads.
they simply cant be all shot just a matter of door knocking or maybe a chat to your local water ranger or rdr manager??
google earth or wises your area will help find them to.
