I certainly don't set them up every night I'm out there, sometimes I don't know which pond I'm going to shoot on.It depends on weather and where stock are on the night. So yes they are out all season. Only missed three nights all season,2 in the bush and one night carving up venison.

A variety of reasons . They fade and go shiney in the sun. I never leave decoys out. Leaving them out would be detrimental to your hunting.

You ever sat and just watched mallards that land in amongst decoys? They spook pretty quickly when they realsie their mates are not real.
    Just my experience anyway

Color isn't that important to ducks, my granddad shoots over black painted polystyrene shaped like a duck with no heads and still gets ducks. I do agree about the spooking part though although it never stops me leaving the 2 on my small pond by the house all season.

Yep I hand paint a lot of my decoys Toby and the flat black is a predominant colour. Its the shine which is No good!

Well done Dundee. That lab is the business.
