    Lake ellesmere lake levels

    Put in a new maimi for a high lake ! . Lake was too low , then too f%#Ken high ! , now to muddy FFS ! . Photos to follow .

    was out there sunday -coes ford closed again with selwyn river spewing 2 1/2-3'of clear but surging water over it.
    icould get through in truck but mate not too keen so we opted for lower selwyn huts floodplain
    huge mob of swans parked right out in open ,freezinNNWwind straight off alps ,and SFA flying.
    some geese yakkin over in rennies area but without a boat -inaccessible.
    lake itself -a surging turdpool of vicious brown water.

    If any of you Canterbury guys are keen for closing weekend lets do it. A storm on the lake would be ideal.

    Closing weekend? I am down there every weekend. Lake has been open since monday last week, now very low.

    How long do you reckon the lake will stay open with the southerly that is hitting on sunday/monday?

    It normally closes up with the first decent swell. Having said that I've closed it won't fill up very fast unless we get a decent wet period.

    I'm thinking of going out for an evening shot if any one keen ,mates been fishing and told me where a shit load ducks camped . Take my boat , 021395667 be quick
