i have it on good authority that the crusaders and richie mcaws biggest fan one gimli mc kotuku of addington.
doth return from the darklands of modor[greymouth]
apparently he is subdividing his cave complex and the stonecutters are iminent.
but he will be available for the opening of teradactyl season
i welcome his return as its been while since i,ve seen his pleasant demeanor and heard tales of what the faders used to be.
long has it been since i.ve heard the clatter of his single shot turkish semi as it fails to cycle and return to battery.

@kotuku neither your (t)rusty escort nor other mates berreta has that wonderful metal to metal ring of my Browning A5. Just a pity I cant use steel on it so most duck shooting is out.
I have to do that with my finely tuned corn shucker camo Mossberg pump action.

ah ma wee cherie ito have an A5-a clone to be exact -its the ol bentley pointershes allowed to shoot 2 3/4steel out of 1/2 choke but alas doesnt see much these days -may have to remedy that. the only 12g action missing in my collection is the ratlly one ,and frankly imin no hurry to remedy that either shortly or in the foreseeable future.

Well if we ever link up for a catch up and a duck hunting session you are welcome to have a go with my slightly modified mossy.
Wouldn't say you'll be converted as they take a bit to get the knack of, but it filled a niche for me years ago to A: try a pump action and B: use an OEG aimpoint I had floating around-it was drilled and tapped for a scope mount so it went hand in hand on ducks and bunnies. Also 3" chambers so not for geese loads either
Throw in a semi pro porting job, some polishing/honing to action etc, a self built thumbhole stock back in the late 90's before there was much around and it goes ok.

Nope doesn't ghost load-only time it did something like that was when the magazine follower got sticky and the shell never came through, but that isn't what you mean.
Mmmm....cut fingers from the shell lifter..... never had that.
But I did take a big chunk out of tip of my right thumb from the extractor on the A5 one day. Putting shell in with one hand and pushing release with other.
Fecking hurt, and bled like a stuck pig. Didn't hurt my shooting, shot a 25 out of 25 in DTL and got to 13 in the shoot off before dipping out. Did it on about the 4-5th clay too.
Watch out for that now I can tell you.

well gimly old son apart frome apparently last year which i missed and 4 years ago which i didnt today was the most realistic duckshooters day wheather for the mead te pirita shoot ever:)
first 25 were cold wetish and a bit breezy second 25 still and a bit cold but made 4 years ago look way worse.
19/25 and13/25 fuck knows why the aecond lot were a bit trickier but the wheather was way better and my hands werent slipping of the gun or it getting stiuck under my waterlogged jackets armpit like the first round.
still i love compact 5 stand whatever you want to call it.

and to certain aquaintances who didnt show ,mr pilot i cant understand why, but you other two it wasnt that bad.

well yes and no.apart from my arkwright imitation which had me toting all but the kitchen sink,and finding my bloody duck calls hanging behind the bedroom door ,twas great to shoot with tow llifelong mates.alas the need for a dog stood out like a stud bulls bollocks but all in all its the occasion that counts
