chances are the pellet was copper clad and thats verde de gris. i wouldnt touch it either

Yuk . We had 1 parry we shot on opening . It had been retrieved soon after shot
Next day mate plucked it pushed in a hole.in breast coupkw maggots came out. We had a few spoil over opening.which was a bit concerning. Next year might have to process them earlier .
Yeah,my thoughts too.he was pretty sad looking but strange thing.just hundred yards from where I shot him twelve,yes twelve harrier hawks sitting in row of willows.they had couple of teal pinned down under trees and I could see one carcase on bank.i figured anything else sick would have been eaten pretty quick so this drake remains a mystery.
