Hmmm-saw a few parries in paddocks coming back from the coast-they said to say hi. your frustration is shooting mine was driving -truck jacknifed trailer on otira -a local wc carrier T Croft driver had to reverse all the way down the bloody otira gorge fully laden with hay and tow the sodding trailer up the gorge. held up traffic+++++++++++for nigh on an hour.
this coupled with inevitable roadworks meant my journey from grey to CHCH almost doubled.
worst -stopped at springfield dunnies for a screaming slash -3busloads of chinee&?german tourists qued up using them.one fat prick came out shaking his head -no wonder -iwalked into the most wretched biological odour ive smelt for a fucking long time. dunno what hed eaten or drunk but it werent a tasty morsel.
cam baCK TO MOTHERS CAR TO FIND CHINEES LEANING ON IT!!!!! fucking lucky they werent a few short on their tour as i gave em a verbal and shot through. Who do they think they are FFS.

we came we saw and eventually we nailed a few.
there were a shitload of geese ducks parries teal swans on the spot when we arrived unfortunatly we had to push them off to get into a maimai.
its not like it was, the geese are nervy as even the parries seem to have range calculators but we got a feed or two with the promise of a good hunt or two to come before the march 4 close.
we must be getting old 4 honkers came right across us we could have droopped at least a couple but think we were so star struck we neever even tried.
i cant emphasise enough how good it was to see good numbers of geese again even tho they appear so paranoid.

@MightyBoosh, I cut them up to make schnitzel, beat them with the meat tenderiser, then coat with flour, egg and breadcrumbs ... miam, miam, miam ...

silvery bit peeled then sliced into bite sized slivers fried in butter.
or baked in milk maybe both.
since we refrained from shooting obvious old pairs EeBees hopefuly tenderising wont be needed.

went out for probably last crack of the summer season.
plenty of birds but damn hard to decoy.
got sfa but so great to see groups of canadas at the lake again especially feeding in the old pozzie.
never seen such clued up parries expect it from geese but parries??
anyway the rest of march is now honker time till the leave anyway

managed to get out again for the last evening/avo of the season talk a
    bout the two ronnies.
we shot like them we ended up with another five birds but it was amatuer city.
everytime we hopped out for a pee parries arrived
bieng older guys that was often
one of us always got caught in the open just enough to stuff it up for the maimai sitter.
the worst was when we packed up they litterly arrived in waves but by then we were low on ammo and good humour.
still great avo with a mate and enough action to keep us on our toes.
