Nice video Steve. Well edited!
well that was certainly worth watching, a big tick from me.
damn that was good
my paddock has a partial tree line not as long as yours but would you say its best to use that with chairs and camo nets rather than layouts and how close would you reckon the dekes can be without bieng to close??
i find pigeons a lot harder out of a layout after the first shot or 2 the manueverable little sods ducks to for that matter:pissed off:
The hedge provided some shade on a 30 degree day. The birds didn't like getting to close to the tall hedge though.
I think layouts are ok, provide sitting in the middle of the spread. Its faster, more comfortable and more social to shoot from behind the flax blind on chairs.
As soon as the pigeon flares it wings and put the brakes on, you know get very long. They change direction way faster than ducks etc. the Decoys were about 20 yards out, but overall, a little to close to the tall hedge but we needed the shade.
Hmmmm....is it because i hail from pommyville, that i expected to see 'two succulent pigeon brests sitting atop mushy peas with lashing of gravy' when i open this thread!!!!!:o
How many did you get? Any banded birds? Great set up.
sweet im pickin ours will be just as toasty after lunch but figure cos there little pea stubble on the paddock the tree/weedy edge might be more likely to look less suss:yaeh am not durnk:at least they won be able to see us from behind if the winds not right if there bloody is any:yaeh am not durnk:
30 metres out for the dekes should still male for well shootable birds??
Great video, really like you set up, spring assisted chairs!!!!!!! Whoa.........also liked the camera work.....The slow mo ejection was a nice touch........good work guys!!!!!!
It didn't get far either:ORLY: NWPC is the North West Pigeon Club in Chistchurch:killzonesmiley:

All those birds without a semi in sight
Thanks for sharing US, sounds like a great shoot. Workingman and I shot 67 on sat morning between 6:30am and 8:00am which was a personal best for me so I a itching to head out again.
What brand are the spinners you are using? Do you think they are worth the money?
I suspect you have the one from A1 decoys in the UK
PIGEON MAGNET AND BATTERY
There is also the outdoor outfitters one that the local gun show hold. It's made for ducks and doesn't have the cradles for dead birds on the arms that the a1 one has.
And then there is the vortex that Cabelas sell which is designed for snow geese.
Cabela's Northern Flight™ Vortex Combo : Cabela's
If any of you fullas get banded birds let me know the date, number and code and I will find out where they are from. Cheers Dundee.
