    Yep.

Off to the Matingarahi Junior Shoot with the young fella tomorrow then one last crack at the pheasants on Sunday. This season's highlight has been seeing the young fella shoot his first gamebird, can't wait for Opening to see his first duck hopefully.

Have a wonderful weekend Guys....I shall not be participating on account of yet another influenza dose...I doubt if I could carry the blunderbus to the ute...what a dismal season the dogs and I have had...always next year...

last chance sunday session. chased some quail around and bumped into a bunch of these things,
dog locked up on a single from full run to full 180 degree point. bang, was way cool to watch, I was expecting a bunny but
    out whizzed a chuk.pretty stoked,
I hadn't confirmed their presence on this block and its only the second time I have been there too.
    Awesome.
    We are lucky down here.

The quail gave us the run around pretty much, they were holed up in the thick stuff, presumably because of the nor'wester howling. very tricky hunting.
and dog pulled off a retrieve I had written off too which he got big pats for, he got some extra tucker and attention for his efforts during the day.
roll on next season I say.

    How did everyone else go?

You look well happy with that chuck as you should be . Get ready for the phessey slayers from the north too swoon.Very low numbers of quails for me ,and others I know , lots of long rank grass and with no sheep to graze anymore because of dairying I think the answer is change my areas . Got two new stations for next year but can only hunt early as acess is marginal once its wet or snowed. Yes roll on next season
