R and R? I'm buggered for the entire week following opening weekend these days

Yeah now I think of it
5.00 starts and late nights had me a bit buggered also,
But yeah, I don't expect much and just like being out there

Went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

Lotsa rain and strong wind forecast this weekend. Might change things a bit; IF one can stand the discomfort.

We had a great week. Shot the same spot all week (except for a paddock hunt in the rain last Saturday), and had easy limits for two of us for the first 6 days. We pulled our decoys in close ( ranged the furtherest at 26 yards), leaving a good gap out front, and did not shoot at any birds that were a bit iffy ( apart from a few that had been shot at by others and were trying to escape). Had no woundies for the dog to find for the first 3 days, and used a lot less shells. We even had the luxury of targeting drakes.
I think we may be on to something!!!!

Had a good shoot opening weekend. Saw a lot of birds and there appeared to be quite a few shooters out to keep them moving. The low cloud and overcast weather helped. Had the decoys in close and shot most of my birds with wings set and undercarriage down ready to drop into the decoys.

Private dam in Onga Onga. Last two trips produced 25 parries and 28 parries, up the Tuki tuki river. Have not shot many mallards this year, but not really targeting them.
