    Ambassotor 7500 help

    Right I've used my real last weekend and it sounded like a chaff cutter " . So I've given her a clean with a degreaser/ cleaner . Will I have to strip it further to grease it or can I get away with oiling . Heaps of black shit washed out with fine fine sand etc . Taken photo to show if I can take the other screws out . I don't want to chance it incase there springs or loose shit that will be impossible to reassemble with fat fingers ? . So hope someone's up with these reels @mikee

    Ambassotor 7500 help

    Sounds like you have some shit in the gears? Take the handle off and the drag star under it. This should let you take the cover off to get to the gears. The clutch is normally on a spring once there plus the anti reverse so be careful from there on. Not looked into a 7500 but had a 6600 and other star drags. Not much difference I would expect. The opposite end will have the casting brake which will also want a huck out if your getting all sorts of muck out.

    This advise pretty much nails it,

    My dad has a large blown up and laminated "exploded view" for each model although a 7500 is really just a blown up 7000.

    When I do mine cover the kitchen table with sheet I take the reel apart and lay the bits out in the order they come apart. Take pic's if that helps too

    Its not hard. The end with the cast control I usually just take the wee control cover off and fill with oil.

    Also if you are good at operating it you can take the Cast control bits out for extra distance

    That reel looks like a 7000 not a 7500 my 7500 is all silver the 7000 is red
