That fg knot looks pretty similar to a pr knot. Do you need a bobbin to tie it?

No. Tie the braid off under tension. Then 25 turns with the leader. A few half hitches to finish.

Two rod /reels ,the one on the left ,on the reel frame by the bit that attaches it to the rod .....is a pink dot ,theres one on her rod too . Faaark them marine deals lot have done well outa me .......grand so far ( see some of the packing ).......just thinkin you can buy a shit load of fish for a grand .......this better work .
Vietnamcam, one for you , went into your fave store ,bugged the shit outa them about everything and then went home and bought all the stuff on line .......for way less ,2m rubber landing net was 1/2 price. Now I just gotta get us onto some fish .
I was expecting the reels to be a bit bigger and if I had realised that I would have gone for the 1200d's as they were only 10 bucks more.

How much braid do they hold?

They have 300m of 50lb braid , dunno what brand . I have fg knotted some (3 rod lenghts ) 20lb mono with a soft bead to protect tip from swivel damage and the ole snap swivel. I have some fluro on the way , actually wound up replacing all my lines and trace mono & fluro coz most of it was at least 20 years old.

300m should be plenty of capacity unless you happen upon a big pelagic or are fishing very deep water, in which case a bigger overhead would be a better option anyway.

Yeah , 300m ,I figured the same and it gives me a bit to trim off when it gets a bit furry.

I make a habit of renewing the first 50m or so of braid as soon as it starts to look a but worn.

That "u" being right next to the "i" sire us a paun un the bitt , but yeah thats my thinkin too. When we fished out of Nelson we hardly ever fished in deep water , and I would like to know now just how many times the the 1st 20m of braid went back and forth thru the tip guide , even if it never touched nothing else thats probly enough to furry it up a bit.

I tend to do a lot of lure fishing so the line tends to get a but of a hard time.
