The blue water is in close and brought the blue bottle jellyfish with it.These are the cousin of the portugese man-o-war jellyfish , The young folk saw them at kaikoura and I saw at the Glenn yesterday, whist they are in low numbers at present they are the biggest I've ever seen.
They have a bloody nasty sting and can still cause injury when dead / washed up on the beach.
