Fishing, dont you just hate people invading your space?

Went for a early morning shark fish of the beach today.
Arrived at the local beach at 330am and had the whole beach to myself. Rigged up a big bait, chucked it out and sat back waiting for some action.

Anyway, 10 mins later a couple of people came down. First i thought they were mates of mine as they headed staight for me as i was expecting one or two.
But they werent, they were a couple of asians coming down to fish and they started to set up 3m from me, WTF.

Now, dont have anything against Asians but when i go for a fish i like the piece and quiet of it and considering the whole beach is free why the fuck are they fishing in my space.
Frankly it pissed me off, so i had a word to them before they got totally set up.
Told them i was fishing for big sharks, no sinker, my line going drift a little and if i hook up its going to run up or down the beach and if i lose it because it tangles
with your lines i will be right pissed off so i basicly told them to fuck off down the beach abit .

Not sure if they speak english but they got the point and moved.
A whole 30yards!. Ok, i let it be and sat back and one mate came down and he set up 80 yards further down the beach.
Anyway, in a very short time more asians turned up, and somehow i was in the spot they wanted to fish as they all started to set up next to me again.

11 turned up in totally, fishing side by side, the whole beach free but no, had guys not only next to me but the last one in the line was fishing in front where
i was sitting and if he hung his rod to far back the sinker was going to hit me.

Now i was getting quite fucked of now, it didnt matter if there was 11 of them, if that sinker touches me or my gear i was going yank it and that rod clean out of his hand
and cut his line and some words were going to be said!!

Before things got heated, i decided from advice from my mate just come and fish the other side of him and have some distance from these dickheads so i did.

anyway, no big sharks were about and as the light came the asians started to catch little tingy snapper and keep everything they were catching.
We soon had enough of this shit and my mate rang who ever deals in undersize fish and they said they sent someone down.

We waited awhile, didnt see anybody arrive from Maf or whoever and as no action we left .

Ppeople can fish where they like i suppose, but when the wholes beach free,
the channel is basicly the same for quite a distance etc its just not right fishing right next to someone else where tangles etc will likely occur and theres plenty of room.
It totally annoyed me and then they go about keeping undersize fish....all i can say they better not turn up next time and put the same shit !

Get signs made up that says "Grouchy Prick" in Asian speak and put one each side of your fishing possie.

I have a DSLR camera and once when I was taking pictures, of some fishermen on a beach, they all packed up and ran away.

Whenever I see them fishing on a wharf I go and look in their bucket for undersized fish. If there are any I tell them "too small you have to put them back". Me and my brother were fishing at Murawai a while back and we made a family of them throw back a whole sack of small mussels. They hummed and hared for a while before tipping them back in the water. It was only later I realized there was no size limit for mussels . Hopefully they went away and looked up the regs. Would have been 30mm long, Didn't seem right to me

That does seem a little like 'asian bashing'...keep in mind kung fu originated in that part of the world and I hope you can swim.

lol Asian bashing ya reckon. Thanks for the warning about getting the bash.
people who come from a culture where there is no fishing regulations at all, and you can strip the coastline clean, are either not aware of the catch limits here, or choose to ignore them.

@Steve123 yeah.I mean it wasnt like they just fished by me. It was like 3m from me, shoulder to shoulder while the whole beach was free.
They when they all moved in , they bascily forced me to move
as i had guys set up straight in front of me right where i was sitting bascily casting and the sinker and hooks a reasonable chance they hit me in the head while they were doing it tangling up my line on the cast

It was clear looking back on it they just wanted to take over that spot and forced me to move. (slight cove to right that was quite shallow so had to move 80 yards)
No way i wasnt going to get my bait not tangled with there lines....so it was either have some words or leave.
So i moved and kept the peace and said nothing but i was there first and its just rude. Doesnt matter who they were but shouldnt be doing that..

Then they go about keeping every undersize fish...mate and i couldnt be bother getting into any arguements as we just here to have a fish so didnt go over and say they too small and need to go back

But my mate after about the 7th fish rang Maf or whoever and they said they sent someone down but didnt see that happen.
We were there about a hour after the phone call before we left.
Point is people should have some respect for others, and considering everything i really didnt say anything apart from the first 2 and it was clear we all end up in a big tangle mess with our lines
if they fished where they were going to.
Put it this way, if i had 2 rods my second one wouldnt be as close to my first one what they were doing.
So it became clear now that they for what ever reason they were forcing me to move as for whatever reason they thougfht that was the spot.
It was quite ridulous, just a pity about the under size fish.....they know the rules but i suppose its early AM in the morning and think whose going to dob them in.

I be ringing Maf myself next time if i see them doing this again.

two things will fix that quick smart...braid line will cut nylon...so rig up heavy braid.....and some road kill possums/rabbits the bloodier the better, chuck them out under balloons, when they start to dissapear the sharks have arrived.
Ive seen the undersized fish thing too....it is a culture thing and needs to be stamped out.MAF need good kick up arse for not turning up...keep ringing every ten minutes if it happens again....
but a braid line and running fish will sort out the close to you guys pretty darn quickly ,or so Ive been told.

In the handle of the old survival knives there used to be a wire for cutting wood for a fire, one of those tied above the sinker saves tangled lines...so I have been told.

You meant one that says "ignorant fucksticks stand clear" and another that says "woke fucksticks will be drowned in the surf"

Very few Chinese are actually "kung fu" people and those that are are, are very seldom masters of the silly carry on you see on tv.
