Ha ha how many beersies you had ? . It's easy they have painted the sea red and purple . Can't go wrong
I know what a marine reserve is = no fishing
I have no idea what a sanctuary means in this context.
I have no idea what the other two words for other areas written in another language mean in any context.
The zoomed in boxes contradict the map also WTF!????
It's blody confusing , the sanctuary( purple) is still aloud to be fished ( lower quotas 6 paua and the cray tails have to have the centre fin removed before you get to shore being the most relevant ) red areas are clearly marked from shore .
you are right the rest is a joke , why they would name an area with words that nobody has herd of got me beat .
Be careful, I sent my sister and husband down there at Christmas time and they took all my gear which hasn't been down there for a couple of years. Before they left they asked me the rules, told them the size and they where allowed 10 each (well it was once), they found out different when the we're exiting the water with 20 Paua. ......bad brother.
And have the cray rules changed? Something about clipping the tailes?
This explanation will help with the blue and orange areas

As I understand it the Taiāpure areas are where the local iwi set the rules.
