Well done!
I have never even had a bite fishing around a harvesting mussel barge so gave that up years ago

Quick fishy this morning with Dad and cousin.
Out of Delaware on the high at 830 gentlemen hours.
Out 30m dropped longline burley up and cousin Craig was soon into a good 12ish pound fish.
We got 6 or so more...dad landed a over 20p that we released and Craig lost another very good fish.
A nice trev and a few Gurnard we had all the fish we needed and bailed out in case the longline had snapper.
We needed have worried it only had spiky dogs on it yet we caught bugger all spiky on rods.
Great couple of hours....must be the last hurrah of snapper season in Tasman bay.Attachment 273747

Well done Cam.
We had a crack out of Stevens bay this morning. Went out to the mussel farm (20m) Water was brackinsh after the rain.
Took sons mate and his dad out with us.
Bugger all but a chilly wind, got a few small kahawai. Longline saved us with 1 (8pdish snapper) Good to send them home with a feed [emoji106] And one gurnard for us to have a taste [emoji41]
Spotted my mate so went over for a yarn. He had whole family on board bundled up in thier puffers.
Reckons they started biting just after we left. Cheeky bugger texted me this [emoji23]

The trick is to use Salted mussels and hold the line in your fingers to feel them trying to suck the mussel off the hook. at least thats what the guys showed me on the harvesters.
I used to fish off them in the sounds whilst the workers worked. It was great no stress fishing as you have zero control over where and how long you could fish, and no messy boat to clean up.
Morning drag with @stingray and @ROKTOY and flounder dog jess.
Beautiful morning , water getting colder.
We did pretty well.

The teenager is sorting tea tonight.
Fresh Kahawai, Butterflied and in the smoker with the standard butter, brown sugar and honey.
Missed out again this work thing sucks
Crap weather = available to fish
Good weather = can't fish because of other priorities.
And there has been alot of crap weather here.
Got a call at midday,” I’m home are you sick of gardening , want to go for a dive!
Tools down , gear packed , VC arrives , we chuck the gear in and off to the ramp.
Into the dive gear , into the boat , boat onto the tide, out to a hot spot that’s being rested all summer.
Yip you guessed it , empty , couple of smalls but pretty much a ghost town, spot two the same.
Spot three bloody hell , a keeper ……bloody hell I'm useless !
I’m getting ready to sack the diver because he is pretty shit …when finally spot four VC drops a spot marker on spot 4 ..
Again empty holes and cracks , then finally a legal cray , then a second.
Yip no photos of these tasty treats . Ran out of puff and the urge to have a beer won out!
Another wonderful afternoon underwater, saw a fish I’m still trying to ID plus large cod ,and a wonderful array of species , handfuls of small crays so all was not lost.
Pretty damn fantastic all round, and as I said to VC it was just what I needed, you don’t realise you needed an afternoon away from gardens and hockey until you’ve had one …and then boom you feel amazing .
Thanks VC your a bloody legend
