On the annual migration to Whiti this holiday I was hoping to do a bit of floundering in the harbour.
Havent really done it before, got a spear and underwater torch.
Has anybody chased them round there? any spots or tips would be much appreciated.
While I'm on the fishing subject I usually go spear fishing up round devils point and have noticed the odd juvenile blue cod, is there anywhere in Mercury Bay I could hook a mature fish?

Was just saying to the wife on Tuesday that I might go to the Auckland fish market and buy some Blue Cod as never had it before. I don't know where the market is but will follow the Remuera tractors

No worries mate, I havent had blue cod since ages ago when I lived down south its bloody beautiful just don't see it much up here. old man used to just chuck in the pan with a knob of butter only an hour out of the tide, used to flake to bits but unbeatable in my books:P
If you have got a kayak you can cruise up pretty much on top of them before they get spooked makes life real easyQuote:
