Nice day, any kingfish? off the glen yet. used to do a bit of fishing and diving there years ago.
its a windy growly, day in Taranaki, loaded boat last night, for an early morning snapper fish, trees were thrashing about at 5:00, so flagged it.
Bugger wish I had seen this earlier, just been softroading with the daughter.
Bought myself a mask/snorkle and flippers for xmas.....still need a weight belt, catch bag and float and speargun tho.
Wish I had seen it earlier too. I could have gone and grabbed a coffee at the landlords place and watched you getting wet and cold from the beach
Some signs of life ..vis was ok down to 20ft then hit the murk layer. Going again tomorrow after work will be there about 530pm. Wind should drop about that time of day.
VC got a spare belt plus weight enough to sink ya and will get the lad to bring his spare harpoon. Txt to confirm dive about 430 and post here.
Grew up on the north side of the harbour Totara nth
Off to run the dog then out to the Glenn, it's blowing a bit right now, may ease in an hour or so.
VC weight belt in back of truck ..rouge chained up on tow ball help your self he knows you .Knife under mat so you can cut it to length. Will txt ya when I get there let you know if it's worth the drive.
Well................................the suspense is killing me, how did you go??
Pretty dry from where I was standing drinking beer with Cam :P
Few points of interest. School of half grown terakhie, school of bait fish , 3 real live butterfish!! Vis out to 30ft.. But kingis were no where to be found, pretty sure I need to get out to the bouy.
Wasn't going to happen tonight sloppy as, wind never dropped. Picking a early morning dive would be a hell of a lot better. A group of rowdy blokes gathered and spun yarns for an hour and a bit!! Great to see GM again along with some other good barstards.
Next time always next time.
And we're back to square one... Mud green to the horizon! Another week or two of waiting!
Fingers crossed we see some of these this or next summer
