    It's easier to strayline with a jig setup than jig with a strayline setup. Having said that, everything is possible despite tackle shop "advice". It would be hard to jig with mono on the reel though, but if you have braid, give it a go and see how you get on. Nothing to lose. Ideally, have a go on a mate's dedicated jigging rod.
